Spending Card Decline Verification

Procurify spend card decline verification email asking a cardholder to confirm or report a declined transaction
New Spending Cards

When a spending card transaction is declined by a security check, cardholders can now verify the purchase directly from their phone or email. They can confirm legitimate transactions or report suspicious activity in a few taps, without contacting support.

What’s new:

  • Real-time verification: Cardholders receive a push notification and email as soon as a transaction is declined by a security check. They can confirm whether they made the purchase, and they aren’t charged for the declined attempt.
  • Quick confirmation: If the purchase is legitimate, cardholders can tap “Yes, this was me.” If their card was locked, it will be reactivated so they can retry the transaction with the merchant.
  • Fast fraud reporting: If cardholders don’t recognize a purchase, they can report it and confirm their response. The card is then blocked immediately, and they can request a replacement from their admin.
  • Verification by email: Cardholders can confirm or report a transaction directly from the email notification without logging in to Procurify.
  • Admin notifications: Card admins receive email and in-app notifications when a flagged decline locks or blocks a card, and when the cardholder responds.
  • A dedicated blocked cards view: Card admins can use the new Blocked Cards tab to see which cards have been blocked, when the action occurred, and who each card belongs to.

A note on response times: Cardholders have a limited window to respond to a verification request. If they don’t respond in time, the decline stands and the card’s status remains unchanged.
